At Pennington Family Chiropractic,

our unique approach to chiropractic care is called NeuroStructural Stability.

This all ages approach is tailored to each persons individual

progression of stability in the spine and support structures.

By analyzing and examining the nervous system and skeleton of each person,

we correct not only your secondary symptoms (ie, pain, discomfort)

but also improve your long-term health objectives by correcting WHY problems developed in the first place.

Why “Neuro”?

Most people are already aware of the fact that the brain and the nerves are the master control system of the body. When the body suffers an injury of physical, chemical or emotional trauma, the patterns of movement and balance around your nerves can become altered, injured or obstructed (a condition known as dysponesis). This further creates abnormal nerve signals from the region of injury, spiraling a small problem into a lack of control inside the critical brain and nerves (called dysautonomia).

Without the “Neuro” component of NeuroStructural Stability, these altered nerve patterns will remain stuck in your body, increasing the chances of future injury, and preventing optimum health and performance.

Why “Structural”?

There are many professionals who deal with health issues using energy flow, emotional release, or even an emphasis on soft tissue like fascia and muscles. While these systems can be extremely influential in the release of an injury, the job of your structural system is to provide support for your body in action. By incorporating structural corrections to address the primary instability injuries, relief from Secondary Symptoms shifts from temporary to permanent.

What is “Stability”?

Have you ever had a pain or problem that was “fixed”, only to return again, maybe even worse than ever before? For most temporary relief, generic chiropractors focus on reducing the discomfort associated with injury or progressive breakdown.

NeuroStructural Stabilization takes a more holistic approach in that our goal is to re-establish function as your body moves, rests, and performs.

Consider the structure of your home. If there is a major shift and the central pillars of support of your home are shifted, multiple symptoms can occur. Windows may crack, doors start to jam, and floors can become uneven. Pushing the central pillars back into place is needed, but creating new supports to stabilize against future shifting in the same direction is the only way to ensure that your family will stay safe as your house ages.

For most people, short-term correction of spinal alignment is too simplistic to make a lasting correction. Your central structural and nerve patterns are not just “in” or “out” of place, they reflect how you will use your body now and into the future. In order to heal injuries, prevent them from returning, and increase your body’s health, we focus on creating stable nerve and structural patterns that enable you to do your normal activities of life while protecting areas that may have suffered long-term damage.
